Visa Applications in Processing For those that have application being processing - he government has announced that they: have established a dedicated taskforce to prioritise the processing the backlog of this caseload are streamlining some of the requirements for those applications currently being processed Visa applications not yet submitted - the program is not accepting any applications at the current time whilst the backlog is being addressed. Change to Australian Citizenship Legislation - as of the 1st January 2023 there will be a change in the Australian Citizenship legislation to assist holders of a SC189 issued under the New Zealand Citizen Stream to access Citizenship without the need to wait 12 months as currently.
