I know my mother won't pass the medical as her kidneys are functioning at something like 50% and is type 1 diabetic. She also had a bypass about 4 years ago. We are looking at lodging an onshore visa while visiting. If it takes 13-30 years for processing and the medical is only required closer to the time the visa is about to be granted then it most likely would not matter, however if it needs to be done within a year or so of lodging the application I doubt whether we will be successful.
