TeeTMI
This is only of use to anyone who holds a NZ Passport and was usually resident in Australia on 19 February 2016. I'm mentioning it here as some people lived in NZ prior to moving to Australia. In July 2020 the government announced that they were to update the New Zealand Pathway within the 189 Permanent Residence Skilled Visa reducing the number of years the income requirement needed to be met to 3 years within the preceding 5 year period. The change is to occur on the 1st July 2021. New Zealand Citizens who meet the other Eligibility Criteria will subsequently be able to utilise the amended legislation which requires the primary visa applicant to demonstrate they had a taxable income of at least the stipulated threshold for at least three income years in the five years immediately before the date the visa application is made (including the most recent year at time of application).
