TeeTMI
UPDATE: State Sponsored 190/491 visas. The government has allocated an interim, limited, quota of places to the States/Territories to enable them to nominated people with skills considered 'Critical' to the COVID response in their State (the occupations may vary by the needs of the State). Note the number of places is limited (4145), and the different states will as always be able to pick and choose those applicants they feel suit their need. Basic details include: - NSW 'selected health, ICT and engineering occupations, and who currently reside in NSW' - South Australia: currently working in SA (or SA graduate) in a critical skill - ACT - residents only - critical skills (as per ACT critical skills list) residents only - VIC living/working in Victoria 'work in a highly skilled occupation in health or medical research, which supports Victoria's economic recovery and/or health response' - Tasmania - critical skills, highly skill levels - but includes health, infrastructure, agriculture, essential goods and services (appear to require an employers letter of support at the current time) - QLD still awaited - NT n/a (onshore applications can be submitted) - WA currently suspended We are hoping to hear more about the full allocation of places to the States and Territories when the the budget is announced next month. Hopefully once the States/Territories have their larger allowances we will see more occupations added and more overseas applicants being considered.
