189 PR Visa Enquiry

Good day All,

 

My current profession is that of ICT Security Engineer/Specialist. The wife and I have decided to take on the big journey of Immigrating  . I have family who reside in Perth and they keep on telling me to apply for 189 PR. From all the Facebook forums etc. it seems that it is getting quite difficult to obtain a 189 PR. Few questions I have: 

 

1. Is a Bachelor/Honours or Masters Degree an absolute must for 189? 

2. PTE or IELTS, which is better for 189? 

3. What are the ABSOLUTE "must-haves" before even thinking of applying for 189?

1) A Bachelor degree is not an absolute must for a 189 - it varies depending upon the occupation.  ICT skills assessments can involve a variety of alternative qualification/work experience combinations. 

2) It varies between individuals - as far as the visa application is concerned the score determines the points

3) Eligibility, Sufficient points, Skills Assessment, English 

 

The occupation 'ICT Security Specialist' is available for the 189 and 190 (as well as some other skilled visa options - including the 491, although less desirable, which is due to commence 16th November).  If you would like an overview of the potential visa options feel free to contact me with your occupation details at our business email (in signature).     

The 189 is a points based visa and Invitations to apply for the 189 in recent months have required 80-85 points (there are a variety of factors that influence the points required and it can change over time).
