Airtickets - Return vs Non Return for Emigration on 189

Hi, 

 

So this might be an absolutely obvious and silly question, but on your emigration flight (the one where you tick the emigrating box), is it ok to have a return ticket? I was under the impression (and I have no idea where I got the idea) that you needed a non-return ticket to emigrate or apply for your medicare), but a look through the forum and on google isn't giving me an answer.

Hi there. Nope, they don't care here. You register when you land and if you ever do leave then you just notify them of how long you'll be gone.
