My mother is looking to join us in Brisbane, and has a background in jewelry, including quite a bit of stock in SA she owns. She is considering bringing it over to AUS to sell, once all her visa papers are in order. Just looking for any tips and advice she may need to consider, in terms of running a small business, the import / export, and if anyone has experience in jewels and bringing them into AUS. An foreseeable issues this may have? Selling them, regulations, running such a business online/from a rental shop, the costs for safe storage may be a lot. From what I can gather the import tax total will be around 15% to covert GST and import duties. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
