The Parsons Family
HiThe rental market is a bit tight still but it depends on the area you're looking in. We found there were more properties available over the $400 a week mark but you can still get properties from $300.The locals are quite friendly but there seem to be more "foreigners" than locals.Where in Perth are you hoping to settle?CheersGaille

He is a 'toolmaker'. We would like to be close to the coast or lake. Do you have any suggestions?? CheersBern
Bob
You won't need any visa if you can get hold of a New Zealand passport. If you're close to applying for NZ citizenship, that may be the simplest, cheapest way of coming over the "ditch" to Australia. You'd be able to live and work without restriction here.Another thing to bear in mind is watching TV on Tuesday this week, I noticed the news reporter stating that Perth has now the least affordable housing in the whole of Australia.so . . . . . bring over $1 million if you intend to ever have a home of your own in Perth in the near future!Perth is a great city, but housing is now soooo expensive . . . . even more so than Sydney or anywhere else nowadays. . . . . . just a thought.
