Hi Folks, Starting the Process

Hi Folks,

As the title suggests we are in the early stages of starting the process to immigrate to Aus. We discussed the idea of immigrating about a year ago but I received a kick up the backside when my wife found an employment opportunity which subsequently lead to a Skype interview and a job offer with an International company also based in Australia. I will be meeting with one of the Australian senior managers this week in JHB. This should hopefully lead to a formal job offer.

We have obviously started the process but are at a crossroads with deciding on an immigration agent. This came about with initial consultations with two agents giving two very different opinions.  What advise would anyone have with choosing an agent? Any recommendations would also be very welcome.

Thank you for an awesome resource and the opportunity for picking your brains.

Kind regards,

Steven & Nadine

Stephen Dickson from Migration Outcomes Australia is handling our application and I would definitely recommend him.  He is very knowledgeable and would definitely by able to provide you with the necessary advice.  This whole process has been an absolute pleasure (well, as pleasurable as something like this could possibly be 😉) with him handling it for us.  His website address is:  www.migrateaus.com.au and his email address is:  stephen@migrateaus.com.au.

Hi Steven and Nadine,

Congrats on the job offer!

If you are both very busy and have the funds, I would highly recommend using a MARA certified migration agent.

I feel that the process is stressful enough and knowing that there is someone to check all the docs and always be there to answer any of your questions is really reassuring.

We are with Migrate 2 Oz team, which proved to us they know the process very well.

Our visa application was lodged a month ago and now we WAIT!!!!!

All the best! ;)

Thanks all, just had my meeting with the Western Australia GM at a local coffe shop here in JHB, he is currently in SA for business and will be returning this weekend. The meeting went great he basically welcomed me to the company. Now I just need to figure out which visa will get me there.

I'll second what OLVD says, as we used Stephen Dickson for the last part in out migration.

He is on these forums and his user name is: SD_MOA if you wanted to check out his posts.
