Qualified Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic looking for employment from RSA

Hi Everyone,

My family and I are in the process of immigrating to Oz. I would like to try and find employment in the meantime or see what is out there, as I will be coming over to Oz first and then my wife and kids will follow. We are hoping to settle in Melbourne, but will appreciate any employment offered to us.

I am a qualified earthmoving equipment mechanic (Mobile plant diesel mechanic) with 13 years experience.

My wife and I are both registered on SEEK and LinkedIn.

@DuaneC often we have referred people to the yellowpages website to do a search for the companies that may use their skills. That is what I have done, you can look at what I found, thus far, but also play with the headings.....you may find more information.

With regard to finding employment we found that once we had a flight booked and could include an arrival date that we started to get more replies from potential employers and had interviews lined up for when we arrived.

It is often worth contacting potential companies directly (even potentially when they are not advertising).

Similarly with the recruitment agencies they also were only interested after arrival.
