189 Visa Application

vrooyan

Question

Hi All, I am still relatively new to the group and just begun gathering information on the whole process. I did an online points assessment and received a 65 which I guess allows me to apply for a 189 visa depending on if I receive an invitation or nomination. I did see something on the DIBP site that concerned me, there is mention of a professional year in AUS. Is this just for additional points??

" Professional year in Australia: documents that prove you completed a specified professional year of 12 months in Australia in the four years before you were invited to apply. "

Professional year is just for points, yes. If you have enough points to apply without the professional year you are sorted. I do not have a professional year in Australia, and have never studied there. So It just meant I couldn't claim points for that.
