Taking a leap of faith!

Hi Everyone

Thought I'd introduce myself and get to grips with our journey :) My name is Jenna, and I'm a 31 year old mom and wife living in Centurion, Pretoria.

My brother and his family  immigrated to Melbourne over a year ago, and we have decided to join him. We decided to come visit Melbourne for a Holiday now 6 Feb, booked our tickets and got our Visitor Visas.

My little girl is only 1.5 years old, and I suppose we are just tired of living in constant fear and corruption here in SA.

So off we flee.

We currently have a company very interested in my husband, and they are busy investigating the whole Sponsorship of a 457 route,

so I'm hoping that this comes through for us. I'm hoping we change our return tickets to One Way's.

In the interim, I have started getting all our docs together, from Police clearances to Documents recommended on the "100 Steps to immigrating to Australia" blog.

If anyone has some more information for me, in terms of what I should start getting together, I'd love the advice, in the interim I'll scour the forum and see what I can find :)

Leap of faith! Here we go!

Jenna

Thanks Mara, for the most part, it has been, but we're also only in the beginning stages, so I'm anticipating anything! :)

Hello Jenna and welcome to the forum. Having a child is one of the biggest motivators for getting out of SA, atleast it was for me. It is a scary decision that is for sure, but with encouragement and support from people on this forum and from family members you can get through it. There is not much to add if you are working through the 100 steps, main thing is getting all your documentation in order now, unabridged birth certificates, although you probably have that already if you are traveling in Feb. We live in Melbourne and it is a beautiful place you are going to love it. :-) All the best with your journey and for any specific advice please ask away. Lots of helpful people here.
