Frikkie
Hi daar julle ouens. Ek wil baie graag "down under" toe gaan maar het 'n paar hickups. 2. Ons het twee kinders, graad 7 en graad 10. Albei is in 'n afrikaanse skool. Hoe werk pensioen fondse in Oz?Ek is 'n gekwalifiseerde Elektrisien met 'n wiremans lisence en werk as 'n elektriese ingenieur vir 'n paar jaar, so ek glo werk sal nie 'n probleem wees nie. Het ook so paar jaar IT ondervinding en kwalifikasies. Volgens Tracey (ARAMS Agent) kan ek kwalifiseer vir 'n state sponsorship in Victoria. Julle ouens is great Frikkie en Maryna
Mara
Hi Frikkie en MarynaExcuse me, but English comes easier to me. Firstly, good luck with your decision, I trust it goes smoothly for you!1. You will have to work harder, it has to be a joint decision. Migration takes a lot out of you and if you are not in the same place about it, it could cause huge problems for you.2. I cannot tell you what to do with your kids, as I do not know you, but, if I was making the decision for mine, I would go now. I would rather they have a hiccup now, than have a problem at university level because they have come out of Afrikaans schools. If they are doing well at school now, I do not think they will have a problem, however, I am sure there are others here that could answer that for you.3. Bringing the dogs, will be costly. You are looking at seven months in quarantine kennels. Use the search facility at the top right of the page, type in "dog quarantine" you should get plenty of answers and a breakdown of costs. If I remember it is something like R25,000 per dog.4. If you have good quality furniture, which could still last you for a number of years, then bring it. It is also nice to have the stuff that you know around you. If you think something is nearing the replacement stage, then do not bring it. 5. In Australia your employer pays 9% superannuation for you into a pension (super) fund. You do not contribute, unless you wish to. With regard to working as an electrician in Australia, please do a search for that as well, there are requirements that you need to be aware of, in order to get registration in Australia.Hope that has helped to start you on your way! Gee haar tyd. Karen

Guest Bronwyn
Hoe eet mens 'n olifant?Happie vir happie! Try not to feel overwhelmed with the paperwork. Just do a little bit every day. It IS a big thing, but if you are determined, you CAN do it.Bronwyn
