ourstory
Hello everyoneSo, I am member #11081 - the newest member to the forum. The number in itself tells a story of SO many South Africans that once were where we are now…Confused, excited, exploring, questioning, researching, thinking, investigating, our family?? when, how, sure, not so sure, yes, no, then again…I have been doing a lot of research, know what the steps are and basically have everything on file (next stop – IELTS…) I’ve been reading A LOT. We are both qualified accountants, and will most probably be able to score enough points for PR – visa 189/190.But our minds are not made up 100% - it is SO difficult to make a decision to leave everything behind that is familiar to us, dear to us, loved by us and loving us. If we do make the decision to apply for visas, we want to embrace a new country and a new life with everything we have. Anyway, just wanted to say hi! We’ll chat again.

B007
We were doing the same thing for quite some time (4 years) but decided to just go for it. Good luck with the process
Mara
In the end, once you arrive, like so many of us others, you will wonder why you did not do so, YEARS AGO!
Lyn
Welcome to the forum -I believe once the idea of leaving RSA enters your mind - it will not go away. Apply for those visa's and when they arrive, take the leap of faith - I doubt in a few years time you will regret it.Good luck.
jjj
11000 is only the number of people who signed up on this forum.I think the last statistics showed something like 5 people arriving per day from South Africa.I also read, some years ago, demographic numbers indicating over 200,000 South Africans in Australia. (Wikipedia says 115,000 in 2006)So yes, you're not alone. There is a lot of help and experience out there that you can tap into.

HadEnoughofJuju
Hi there ourstory, welcome to the forum. This is a difficult decision to make and there are days where I still ask myself if we did the right thing. I just have to look at the school my daughter goes to or watch her play in the local park or watch her ride her bike up and down the street and I realise all over again that it was all worth it. debbieschutte
Hi there, i had the same feelings in the beginning when we started thinking about leaving. First i decided i would not sell my house so that we have a "back door". Well now a few months down the line with our visas granted we have sold the house, yes sold it and me and hubby were just saying that we shouldnt have waited so long to leave (flying out on 20 jan 2014) and that this 6 more months in SA is way too long. Like Lyn said if that thought enters your mind it will not go away and then you start getting excited for the jouney ahead.Good luck -
