VanTonderFamily
HiWe could not make up our minds if we want to move to Aus or not... Eventually made the decision to go,after the birth of our child and a 6 week tripI loved everything I saw in Aus..We are using Ivan Chait as our agents for the whole visa applicationSo now my skills assessment is submittedLodged on 2013/06/20Class : ACS Systems AnalystHow long does this usually take?We still have a long road ahead of us... but I heard the whole visa application process is significantly faster, due to the increase in cost.Has anyone been denied a visa after invitation for some reason?I think this is my biggest concern at this stage
chzaau
From what I understood you can be denied a visa if your application does not match with your EOI claim. The other area I have seen people run into difficulty is with medicals.
AndreaL
Hi there and welcome to the forumI'm not sure about your skills assessment, hopefully others can comment. I'm not sure who told you that the application is quicker because of the cost....I'd refute that, visa costs go up each year at the end of our financial year 30th June.....This year was a huge increase and the immigration department states.......The decision to introduce new charges was based on a review ofAustralia's existing visa pricing structure that had not been modifiedsince 1994. The pricing restructure will bring Australia's visa pricingin line with similar countries such as Canada, the United States ofAmerica and the United Kingdom. There will still be the same amount of case officers to deal with a similar amount of visa's, so I don't think there will be any difference. You can be denied a visa if you nominate an occupation which does not match the occupation on your skills assessment, if you have a significant criminal history, if you lie in your visa application, if you don't meet the health requirement etc.If all documentation required is submitted and your points match those of your EOI there should be no problems, but you have an agent, they should make sure that all is correct....good luck, it can be stressful, but we all get there in the end
HadEnoughofJuju
Hey freese.m, welcome to the forum and good luck with the skills assessment. I doubt very much whether your agents would have put your skills application forward if they didn't think you had a good chance at getting a visa. As long as you can prove everything on you EOI and your medicals are fine then you should be fine.

HadEnoughofJuju
We lodged our EOI on 22-08-2012 and received our invite on 15-09-2012 which I think was pretty fast but we did have 75 points tanks to all 8's in the IELTS.
VanTonderFamily
If I pass my IELTS tests with an 8 band - I will also have 75 pointsDo you think the more points you have, the better your chances of an early invitationDid you do state sponsorship or is it a 189 independent skilled visa? HadEnoughofJuju
Yes I do think there is a good chance that you could get an invite the higher your points are. A large percentage of the EOI's have 60 points and are getting invites so the more points the better the chances. No we didn't do the state sponsorship thing, we went the 189 route.
