Hi all

Just some questions on travel insurance and money matters for our look see trip in November to Perth.

!) Whom is the best wrg to travel insurance ?

2) Whats the best way of getting cash when we there. Can our credit/debit cards from SA be used there? ( Bank wth ABSA)

Anyone who's done the round trip, please assist

When you say travel insurance, do you mean medical insurance (which we got from our medical aid as they cover three months out of country) or do you mean for when your luggage get lost?

We just drew money from the ATMs there (same in all the other parts of the world I've been to). Just make sure you have 4 digit PIN and not a 5 digit PIN as some ATMs will only allow a 4 digit PIN leaving you with the wrong PIN and no way to draw money. We used our credit cards where we could, as there are no extra charges for using it internationally (visa and mastercard are international), while we drew the minimum cash to pay for small things like bus fare, a coke on the beach, icecream, etc. Cash withdrawal is about R35 - R50 a pop, so draw enough in one go if you can.
