Nicol
HiI am thinking of applying for a job with the ACT Public Service. I saw on the application form that there is a box you can tick if you are "People form a non English speaking background" under the heading "Equal Employment Opportunity group".Seeing that my first language is Afrikaans would it be to my advantage to tick the box, or would they think that this guy cannot speak English properly?Your thoughts on this would help allot!Great day to you all!! Cramer
eeo is very much like Affirmative Action"EEO groups are people affected by past or continuing disadvantage or discrimination in employment. As a result they may be more likely to be unemployed or working in lower paid jobs. These groups are: • women,• Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders,• members of racial, ethnic, and ethno-religious minority groups, and• people with a disability.
