Want To Immagrate To Australia

Good day,

we want to live in Australia (hope we can make it)

we visit our daughter who is permanent residence

and we just loved it here (feel much saver here then in South Africa)

where do we start, how do we go about is

please note out ages are 57 & 54 (no more spring chickens)

i will keep on reading the forum to get information

Hello

I think because of age that your daughter would need to look at applying for some type of parent visa for you. There are people on the forum who have done this and hopefully they can respond, in the meantime here is the link to the Department of Immigration-Parent visa options if you want to have a read and see. One of the options is quicker but very expensive and one is a bit cheaper but takes years.

You could definitely get your daughter to sponsor you. Sponsorship doesn't necessarily mean she pays for your visa.

Essentially, you can have a parent visa (which can take more than 10 years to grant), or a contributory visa (around 2 years, and you can use a bridging visa to go earlier).

There is a huge difference in costs though... go to www.immi.gov.au and follow the visa wizard. It will help you with general information of which visas to apply for.
