Question

Things are coming together.

I arrived on Saturday morning, missed my original flights on the day before. My new car was delivered at the airport, already registered in my name. Picked up the children's school books. I managed to secure a house, but the container will only be delivered next week Tuesday, because of the backlog due to the floods. So will stay in holiday accommodation till then. I failed my learners yesterday, but passed it today. Family will arrive tomorrow, then Thursday is school uniform fitting, as well as my specialist appointment. I will do my drivers on Saturday; managed to secure a spot with a driving school, to take me around the block before the practical exam.

I also went to fit a towbar on my car, because I need to get my trailer through roadworthy. I will then be on a course for a week from Wednesday, then it is wife's turn to make the house liveable. At least she brought a maid with, "Her Mother", who can help her sort out all the stuff.

Past my drivers today. Quite humiliating; glad I had an hour with driving school just before the test. I would not have made it without the tips and guidance.

I think you have set a record for getting a licence, most let the 3 months get close, or slide by :ilikeit:

Trailer. A trailer roadworthy is very different here.

http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Registration/Reg...t-trailers.aspx

You need

Vehicle registration form (in the office or online)

Completed SELF ASSESMENT (if less than 750 kg)

Weigh bridge cewrtificate if over 1 tonne

Gas cert if it has gas system (eg caravan or camping trailer)

Evidence of origin

Evidence of home adddress

I bought a trailer on eBay that was listed as homebuilt. It was deliverd using a trade plate (I think). Given a few sheets of paper with information like mass size etc. and told what to do.

How did you buy a new car, delivered in your name at the airport. Internet purchase? Dealer purchase? If so, which make of car? Nosy!

Hey BulleBak

Congrats on being so organized and in control, especially in the flood affected areas of Aus.

Hope to hear more of your experiences of Aus in the future. You should post a couple of pages in the journal section

Just out of curiosity...why did you post this topic in the "Going Back?" thread? :ilikeit:
