I think this is a good price.

I paid in 2008 R39 000 on qantas to Brisbane

Check out Virgin - they fly via Melbourne which would actually be easier for getting to Adelaide (an hour's flight from Melbourne to Adelaide). Ask them for the 40kg allowance - seems many of the airlines do it on a one way ticket for migration purposes. What about Singapore airlines?

Out flight to Perth (which is cheaper than to Sydney) with also 2 adults and 2 children R19 000 from IOM.

Quote from Qantas with 40kg baggage concession was R28 000.

In my opinion IOM definitely have good prices.

Virgin's entrance to the market has seriously dropped prices. the down side is that they are not doing the PERTH - JHB route and so IOM will still be cheaper for that route only. But on the JHB to SYDNEY/MELBOURNE Virgin are offering better prices.

We paid R14 980-00 one way JHB-MEL with VAustralia

3 adults and 1 child

:rolleyes::ilikeit::)

Was the cheapest quote we got.

We have also packed our bags and can tell you there is no ways i would have managed to pack 40kg each for the 4 of us!!

So the 23kg allowance is more than enough (for us anyway)

We used IOM they were the best quote we got. JHB-SYD-BRISBANE. We didn't pack 40Kg per person but I know I tried. We took linen, blankets and lads of clothes. Also packed most of our shoes in the bags. Didn't need customs to be burning one shoe of any set!!! :rolleyes:

We used IOM in June 2008 and my friend is a travel agent and told me she couldn't get me flights as cheap as them. So they were definitely cheaper than any other flights. Also the 40kg allowance is WONDERFUL. You may think your not gonna need that much allowance but I can assure you you will!!! Virgin do not offer the immigration baggage allowance ~ friend just immigrated over on them and was told they dont have that allowance.
