To all you new Gold Coasters or Brisbanites

We are having a ladies lunch on Thursday the 4th March at The Garlic Clove which is in Porto Bellago - in the Emerald Lakes development which is in Carrara. The time is 12 for 1230 and we usually have around 40 women attending - it is a really nice way to meet people and of course to enjoy good food and good company.

Would love to welcome anyone to join us - PM me if you are interested in coming.

Hi there

Such a pity it is during the week, as I would love to have been there, but work full time.

Have fun

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to come and join you, but it is simply so far......over 90km's from my front door (I am north of Brisbane), and as I have to be back to pick up my child from school at 3pm, it simply doesn't make sense.

I know that this is an active group of people, and that it is originated by the Gold Coast, but is there any chance of you holding it in Brisbane / closer to Brisbane next time around? Thus giving the Brisbane girls a realistic chance of attending?

Or is there a similar ACTIVE group in Brisbane?

My husband is overseas at the moment and will be back in a week or two - maybe next time if he is here I can attend......then he can do the school run....

Cheers!

Nix, why don't you organise a Brissie one? If you plan something for the weekend you already have two takers in Jennifer & Dee...

And another taker for a Brissy get together!

How we started is we organised a lunch and invited four people and asked them to all bring a friend - wrote down their email addresses and then emailed them all to say when we would meet up the following month and that they were all to bring another friend - it just grew from there - now we have about 500 ladies on our database and send out those emails once a month notifying everyone of the date and venue and we welcome anyone from anywhere... each lunch is attended by between 35 - 55 people - have to always organise the restaurant upfront and check out the menu to make sure that the price for the meal is between 10 and 15 dollars so that the newbies who are still working in rands can still come.. we also say that you dont need to come for lunch and can just come and have a coffee - we do a different day of the week every month and chose a different venue every month - in that way we get to try out all different restaurants - and try have one north - then south of the gold coast and some in the middle - try to be fair. So give it a try - you already have a few takers just on these replies... then you ladies can join the facebook page the S A Ladies lunch club and maybe we can have one in June/July like a christmas in July one and combine the two ...

Let me know what you ladies think - it is not a hard job doing this as it only involves updating your data on your contacts on email and providing a book for everyone to write their details in on arrival at the lunch and then the monthly email... we try and send out an annual one so normally get together in Jan and plan the whole year so that people can work out their diaries around the lunches..
