Red
Quoted from www.southaustralia.com....Just minutes north of Adelaide, seaside St Kilda s a popular family destination with its award winning adventure playground.Spread over sandhills, the St Kilda playground is an enthralling destination featuring a giant wave slide, flying foxes, tunnels and mazes to discover. Cross a drawbridge to explore a castle or jump aboard to 'captain a ship'.St Kilda is home to more than 100 species of birds and boasts a large mangrove estuary and nursery for recreational and commercial fish. Take in the Mangrove Trail and Interpretive Centre, with a 2 kilometre boardwalk that meanders through the mangrove forest of the Barker Inlet Aquatic Reserve. There's also an award-winning Interpretive Visitor Centre, enabling you to discover the beauty and significance of this coastal wetland. The St Kilda Tramway Museum houses 20 trams, 14 in service; several Adelaide built Melbourne trams, two Adelaide horse trams, four electric trolley buses (including Australia's first) and historic tram rides on 2 kilometres of track between the museum and the adventure playground. Trams built in New York and Philadelphia that served Adelaide are also maintained, as well as Australia's first electric trolley bus.Photo's to follow...
