Terence.H
Hello darkness my old friendYou've come to rob me once againI hear your footsteps softly creepingThrough my house as I lie sleepingAnd the brick you used to smash my window painStill remainsWithin in the sounds of sirens.(SOUND EFFECT OF ALARM SIREN)In restless streets I walked aloneThey stole my car I can't get home'Neath the halo of a old street lampThey grabbed my wallet by the AutoBankWhen I was stabbed by a gangster and a couple ofhis palsIt split my skullI heard the sounds of sirens(SOUND EFFECTS OF POLICE SIREN)And in the naked light I sawJust one Konstabel not one moreHe shouted, "Freeze! This is the law speaking!"They broke his kakebeen without listeningPeople running loose 'cause they been released on bailNo place in jailAmidst the sounds of sirens(SOUND EFFECTS OF MIXTURES OF SIRENS)Why they do it I don't knowViolence like a cancer growsHear my words that I might teach youTake my T.V. and my radioBut a life is a sacred thing my BruIt's given once...Don't let it echo... (GUNSHOT FOLLOWED BY SHRIEK).......INTO SILENCEAnd in the naked light I sawA shadow moved across my doorI walked quietly and klapped him onceIt was the Outjie from Armed Response'Ag sorry,' I said as he fell down on his headMy face was redReflected in the Sounds of Sirens

louw.pretorius
This has my vote for new National Anthem, Everone should know this by heart. I love the Truth wrapped in Irony and Satire - it's just this kind of humor that gets me thru the day - bru.

louw.pretorius
Don't worry Erica, chances of your kids knowing this song is most probably quite slim. Kids are much much less sensitive about these things, remember they are growing up in this country and know whats going on, it's us who have been used to better that is shocked...But yeah. If so, very well done!I would offer my feeble attempt at some make-over of a popular song too, but it's still v-e-r-y early on Sunday morning and I have not yet had my 2nd cup of coffee...
