polly
PS the guy in the last photo was not hailing a taxi. He was actually dancing around and singing on the street corner.
Happy2Bhere
The tekkis/trainers/runners over the powerlines, trees, phone lines are just so funny. My little boy spot them everytime. Wonder what is the idea behind it... if there is any...

polly
Ek het omtrent 5 van die twee geneem en in elke foto sukkel hy so met die ring. My dood gelag! Die tekkies dink ek is 'n prank. Die studente het dit woes gedoen toe ek op Stellenbosch was
AllisonW
They are beautiful Polly. Just what i needed today to keep me inspired to get to Melbourne.ThanksAl
Jannie
Sorry, not to put a damper on the beautiful pics ... the tekkies over the telephone line indicates a drug dealing spot ... sorry! I've seen it in Sydney a couple of places and been told by the locals that is indicates a drug dealing spot or intersection. Guess the same would apply in Melbourne. Red
... the tekkies over the telephone line indicates a drug dealing spot ...Shame you gotta feel for the druggies waiting under the takkies... when all it was was a childish prank...Polly, thanks for the photo's... I find photo's can say so much more than what words can describe....

How I miss Aus now!! Can't wait to be back.I think the tekkies over the line is just a bit of a childish prank. Wouldn't this be an easy monitoring spot for police if this is indeed a drug dealing spot?? Maybe just another "urban legend".... polly
Found the wikipedia article about shoes on powerlines and in trees: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoe_tossingBasically no-one knows why it is done. Could even indicate some young stud losing his virginity
polly
Uploaded a few extra photos to the slide show. We went to the park. Everything is lush and green after three days of rain. Got some drizzle this evening. You will see the cloud cover. There were people flying kites and model planes and gliders, kids practicing cricket, kids on bikes and skateboards and scooters.... Lots of people walking their dogs, exercising them by jogging or throwing sticks. There were even two dads practicing footy. Their little girls kept running in, wanting to play with. Was so everyday normal. Loved it The black birds kept chasing the doves
