Rover Posted February 12, 2009 Report Share Posted February 12, 2009 This is an article on the Aussie news:http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27...850-462,00.htmlThe very short version:Total employment rose in January.Full time employment on the rise, up with 33 700 jobs in January 2009.Part time employment down.Labour market still expected to deteriorate during 2009.Mixed reaction from economists suggest the figures may not be totally representative.Unemployment now at 4.8%, which is a real concern and the highest since June 2006.The policy stimulus measures are having an impact.I interpret this as; things may have levelled out a bit for now, but it will probably take another dip in 2009, but thats just my opinion.Nothing is said about specific industries, like mining or IT.
