Hi,

Im new on the site. Myself and my family have decided to move to the gold coast, a better future for our 2 year old son.

We have lodged our 175 PR VISA with a migration agent and should be outta SA in the next couple of months......

so much to do and such little time!

Find that we up till 2 am every morning doing constant research on the net, just so interesting..... what a different style of life in oz.

We are so excited, and cant wait to start our new lives in Oz.

If i post alot of questions on the site, please forgive me! Im an addict for info...

Hi Jackie

We have lived on the Gold coast for 8 years and have settled well. My brother-in-law lived in Steiltes in the eighties, and of our best friends live in Witrivier, so we know your area quite well. Keep the questions rolling.

Hi Jackie

Our family moved from White River to Brisbane 6 months ago. We are starting to feel fairly settled but I can still picture the spectacular landscape, granite koppies and citrus orchards that we left behind.... I will always miss it I think, it is a particularly scenic area of South Africa. The humidity takes some getting used to here, even though I was born and raised in Durbs.

Let me know if I can help out in any way.

Regards

Lisa

Welcome Jackie, you can never ask too many questions.

Use your search function (top right in the grey stripe) to look for what you need, there is SOOO much here!

All the best with your plans.

Hi Lisa

I found it in Australia, but bietjie ver from Brisbane. Kunnunarra in North WA. Graniet koppies, cirtrus orchards ens.(We cant live there but at least we can visit hey?) I promise you the body is a wonderful thing. and you will get used to the humidity. I nearly succumbed our first year, and the next year I felt that the summer was "cooler" where in fact it was hotter than the previous year. Each year I think it was more bearable than that first year.....
