Templestowe & Westerfolds Park

So we specifically went driving to Templestowe today. Saw there was a nature reserve and thought it would be nice to take the kids out to the park along with taking some photos. Of course after a week of beautiful sunshine, it decided to start raining. (I left my washing on the line, must have been because of that ;))

There is thus not much variety, mostly of the park in the short interlude when the rain stopped. We had previously been to the other side of Templestowe where the SA Shop is, but I have to admit we were not too impressed. This side of the area is breathtakingly beautiful though. Will try to visit in the smaller streets soon.

The park has facilities for canoeists. There is a river you can go rowing on. Lots of parking, play area and bbq facilities. Also lots of little 'roofs' to hide under with the rain (they were all packed with people today :ilikeit:)

I think that is why South Africans want to go to Australia: It looks so much like South Africa minus all the crap that makes it unlivable here. I love the photos, gives a whole other perspective on what I experienced in Melbourne and Sydney. We stayed in places close to where my husband could find work - it was like staying in Kraaifontein (no offence) when visiting Cape Town, and thinking "is this IT?"
