MiniDachsie
Hi all,I'd really like to join in, but I'm moving this weekend into a flat in Alexandria. Would this become a regular event that I could join?I'd also really like to meet new SA people - I am single and don't know many SA people in Sydney. Thanks! zorba
hi coyote,Have you seen the post under Events NSW? Latino Music evening at Sydney Olympic park, looks like there will be quite a few people going...
SANZOZ
Why don't all the ladies just meet up for coffee on a Saturday morning? We could make it a once a month thing and always make sure its near a station so that we don't have transport issues. And we could "theme" it so that we all know how to recognise each other in the beginning - for example wear a red top or something? And if babysitting is a problem we could always have it somewhere where the kids can also play - hell we can go to a MacDonalds if we are only having coffee! Any takers???
zorba
Hi SANZOZ, Looks like you've just volunteered to organise the first one ... Suggest a date and place and let's see how many ladies we can get together, with or without kids. If you're feeling energetic you can make a mini survey...zorba
SANZOZ
Ha ha, why the hell not! Who is free on Saturday 28th Feb? Around 10am? I don't know where the majority of people are living but we can sort out the venue when I have an idea of numbers and where they are from. TweetyandChester
We had our first ladies get together at the end of January and it was very nice. Was thinking of arranging something for the end of February again. We thought it would be nice to go clubbing and shake our bums a bit! Something we felt like at our first one but the place we went to didn't have a dance floor. Any suggestions?
zorba
Hi,Call me boring, but I am really not comfortable going out clubbing. I'd rather leave that to the young singles. Just my opinion. Why not do both (maybe alternate months) so we can choose which one to attend? This should keep everyone happy!
MiniDachsie
Hmmm, I tend to agree with you Zorba, although I see myself as still very young and am single, I've never been one for clubbing. The alternate events might be a good idea, but then some people might only meet once in two months? We could have two groups and then some people could have ample events to go to, or at least one a month? This does add to the organising though! Just to add more ideas to the list, I love going to the movies so maybe we can arrange a movie as a future event?
SANZOZ
Yeah I was thinking the movies thing could be quite nice too. I don't get to see chick flicks with my hubby
zorba
Yeah I was thinking the movies thing could be quite nice too. I don't get to see chick flicks with my hubby Well, it will have to be movies and coffee after, or we won't be able to chat and socialise! Maybe movies should be the "2nd date"? TweetyandChester
Maybe once you feel like doing something just send a mail... then whoever wants to go can go then it is also not only left for once per month ;-) I have started compiling a list with addresses and phone numbers. PM me yours then I wil add you to the list and send out the new list over the weekend. This way everybody can contact everybody and there is not one central "chairperson". For example some ladies have children and would like to do something where they can take their children with so they can interact with other children where as some aren't that big on children and would rather not go if there is going to be children (as an example) ... what do you gals think? I have found tat on the forum many people say they will attend something and then never pitch so to be safe, rather do it via e-mail. zorba
Brilliant! Will PM you now...
SANZOZ
Yeah I think that once we have all met up in person though, we will figure out who we identify with and most likely swop details and arrange to get together privately. But its nice to have a group event to go to and meet new people.I also like the idea of having a "book club" where we can host some ladies at home and take turns. So many ideas
