As an introduction to the forum I was asked to give a background on my professional career.I am a South African born Australian immigration lawyer who have worked exclusively in this field for the past six years. Before setting up an incorporated legal practice on 1 October this year (Teleo Group Pty Ltd), I was a senior associate lawyer in a leading Sydney based law firm. I am a Law Society of New South Wales accredited specialist in immigration law - a real honour for me as there are currently only 25 lawyers in NSW with specialist accreditation in immigration law. http://www.lawsociety.com.au/Search/Query.aspxI hold a Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree (Pret.) and am a solicitor of the High Court of Australia and registered as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa. I specialize in skilled, employment sponsored and business migration visas, but can also assist with complex immigration matters and merits review applications following visa cancellation or refusal. As a practitioner in immigration law, I am also a registered migration agent (MARN: 0004435).I am an adjunct lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU College of Law), where I currently teach in the graduate program for migration agents.Please note that the idea is not that we (Dolf van Zyl and myself) will act as the forum's Immigration Agents. I am happy to give general advice on the forum to steer people in the right direction with regard to general immigration questions. Siende dat jyself ook deur die emigrasie proses is, sal jou persoonlike ondervinding natuurlik ook van baie waarde wees. Hopelik kan hierdie forum ook vir jou 'n bron van inligting wees in die sin dat jy "inside info" kry oor al die dinge waarmee ons almal worstel wat nou deur die proses gaan.
