NicciG
Hi AllI thought I'd share this icredibly divine dessert recipe with you. It is ideal for Christmas and any other occasion you can think of (I "create" an occasion quite frequently just to make this dessert) :Sobremesa (Brazilian Chocolate Dessert)Ingredients:200g White Chocolate200g Brown/Dark Chocolate2 x 290ml Dessert Cream1 x 250ml Fresh Cream2 x Table spoons of Icing sugarFavourite fruit (eg strawberries, cherries, peaches, kiwi, etc)Preparation:1. Chop up fruit.2. Chop up white chocolate in a bowl and melt in microwave for approx 2 minutes. Add 1 dessert cream without serum (water)* with the chocolate and mix well. Place mixture in large bowl.3. Put 1/3 fruit mix over white chocolate mix.4. Chop up brown/dark chocolate in a bowl and melt in microwave for 2 minutes. Add 1 dessert cream without serum (water)* with chocolate and mix well. Pour/spoon mixture over the fruit mix referred to in 3 above.5. Put 1/3 fruit mix over dark chocolate.6. With electric mixer, mix chilled fresh cream with 2 spoons of icing sugar at high speed until firm and spoon over fruit referred to in 5.7. Decorate with remainder of fruit and refrigerate for 2 hours.* To remove the serum from the dessert cream, put the tins in the fridge for 1 hour and carefully remove the cream with a spoon. (I am too lazy to remove the serum, so I usually add 5 white marshmallows to each of the chocolate bowls in microwave to make sure that it is not too runny. Apparently the serum can make the chocolate mix runny.)PS: It can't be all bad with all the fruit included in the recipe!!! I would love some feedback once you've made the dessert - it is a bit pricey, but definitely worthwhile!!Have a good one!!NicciG Edited November 12, 2008 by NicciG
