Hi Everyone,

I also seemed to miss the introduction part of the website but have been so intrigued by some of the info and comraderie!

We started our enquiry into emigrating in November 2007, were accepted by Teaching Australia in July 2008, and are hoping to have our VISAS lodged by the end of this week so we still have a long way to go. Another 10 months or so but we are so looking forward to our new life in Aus! We are hoping to do a rekkie in June next year.

Luke and I are ex-teachers (like most teachers in SA). Luke has an architectural-draughting business specialising in CAD etc and I work for Pam Golding Properties as a property consultant. We are not sure whether we will go back to teaching or not but will cross that bridge when we get there!

Thanks for your inspiration and knowledge. We look forward to a long and happy journey with you all!

Luke and Robs

The ride ahead is a rough one at times, and so it is good to have this place in cyberspace to discover you not alone. There will be tears of both sadness and joy, but we are here to help each other by PAYING IT FORWARD

welcome to the forum...the rocky road to the visa is shared by us all...laughter or tears, we have all been through it...and keep coming back for more..it really is like a drug..you become so addicted to this forum, and then you get the visa..a natural high. afterwards you feel a bit flat so you need to apply for another type of visa...(lol at myself).

GOOD LUCK AND KEEP POSTING

Hi there,

The penny has just dropped. I saw you at the Bot Gdns one Sunday afternoon. I taught with Jacqui at Linpark whilst she was doing her prac teaching for the PGCE. Good Luck. Not long now! How are you both feeling?

We also have a chocolate brown lab who is the light of our lives! We are trying to find a happy home for him and his sweetheart, Hayley (Wheaten). Don't know how we are going to part with our babies! They are madly in love and inseparable and need to find an enthusiastic ball thrower and owners who will spoil them as much as we do. Any ideas?

We are still undecided as we have not been to Australia before but have our hearts set on either Perth or Brisbane. We hope to come over and do a Rekkie in June/July which should help us decide. Good to meet you.
