Dogs and cats are available from the animal shelters, at easily affordable prices, so please, do yourself a favour and check what they have available. Oh and by the way, it is not just adult dogs and cats that they have, they often have puppies and kittens. Here are the contacts for those of you that are in Melbourne.

Thanks for this Mara. What a wonderful idea. We will definitely be checking out these first once settled in Melbourne.

Hi Jeanne

I agree, pets are expensive, you have no choice but to pay if you want a pedigreed animal. I know, I have two purebred Balinese cats!

The thing is, you often get pedigreed animals from the shelters as well, people buy them, then find they are too much trouble, and just offload them at the shelter.

Thanks Mara. I call that her "Princess Diana look". She puts it on for visitors when she tries to convince them that we never feed her :whome:

Mmmmmm, I know that feeling, my cats sit and stare at the visitors, humming 'feed us filet steak' hoping that their dream will come true!

Just thought I would bump this into sight again, in case there is anyone out there wanting to acquire a pet!
