The 2008 Kings Park Festival will include an intensive program of free family events throughout September. Enjoy colourful displays of native wildflowers throughout the Botanic Garden, together with many events and activities to suit all ages and interests. There will be gardening and art workshops, free family Sundays, guided wildflower and bird walks, the Aspects of Kings Park ‘meet an artist' program and much more. ‘Seeds of Change' is the theme for this year's festival, highlighting the importance of conserving the earth's flora for the future sustainability of our planet. Climate change is impacting on all Australians but by taking an active role in conserving our local environment we can each make a difference. Throughout September they will also showcase an open-air exhibition entitled ‘Hard Rain', including a stunning series of photographs by Mark Edwards. Inspired by Bob Dylan's song ‘A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall', the exhibit is a powerful commentary on climate change, environmental collapse and global poverty.
