HI.

Just immigrated to Perth, and have no container, just a small bag each.

Have 2 small boys, and desperate to start collecting toys for them!

Anyone have any 2nd hand toys or outdoor equipment for boys, or clothes for age 1 to 3?

Thanks so much!

Kind regards,

Donaleen

Sorry, we are still in SA. Just a suggestion, why doent you go and check out some charity or thrift shops, these often sell stacks of second hand clothes and kids really dont care. Here in JHB, i support the JHB hospice shop and i buy movies for my kids at R10 each, books from R5 to R10, toys at such cheap prices.

Otherwise scan the internet and local papers for garage sales. I have heard that they are large in Oz. I even found a website for Oz where people can advertise their garage sales. You are sure to find bargains there.

Good luck!

HI

There is a lovely kids shop which steam cleans all their toys and then sells them at a really good price.

Its called Kids Shak, it is on Hepburn Avenue, just off Wanneroo Rd.

Get your local newspaper and go to the garage sales they advertise in the classifieds. I've bought many a bargain at garage sales such as Fisher Price Educational Toys $2 each, Sesame Street Camera with lights & sounds for $1, Roller Skates $5, Batman Tent $2, Action Figures 50c each, pack of 10 CD's $2, baby high chair $10 etc - All in perfect condition!! (Some might need a wipe down or a dust, but it is absolutely worth it!!)

Welcome to Perth, Donaleen. Can't help with toys, but you would be able to find some things at the local Good Sammy's store.

Hi Donaleen,

Welcome to Perth!! I second the op shops like sammy's and salvos especially for books and puzzles. Also shops in Oz have really GREAT sales. Toys R Us has sales on at the moment with some of their things 80% off. Also check out the clearance section at Toys R Us, there are fantastic bargains there, normally the boxes are a bit ripped and torn, or its the last item on the shelf.

Hi

I am in the same situation in Melbourne - anybody know of places I can buy good quality 2nd hand toys. Tried 1 Op shop in warrandyte but nothing there. She is soooo bored - 2.5 year old and would be good to find some stimulating new things for her.

Thanks a lot

Tarryn

  • 2 weeks later...

Check with your local council to see if there is a Toy Library in your area. You can take toys out for 2/3 weeks at a time. You pay an annual fee. Anything from dress up outfits to bikes. There's one in Cockburn. Open on Saturdays. 27 March St, Spearwood.
