zulik Posted July 15, 2008 Report Share Posted July 15, 2008 R1.4m on security at Johannesburg Hospital 15/07/2008 14:23:02Johannesburg Hospital has apologised to patients for the inconvenience caused by freezing conditions there and by lifts and escalators which have been out of order for some time now.It's understood only four lifts out of 21 are working and only one boiler at the facility is in good condition.The hospital says extra staff has been employed to carry patients up and down the stairs. Johannesburg Hospital CEO Saggie Pillay says the lifts will be replaced in two months time and security has also been upgraded.Pillay says the hospital is spending R1.4m a month on security.Why not fix the lifts?
