It's been quite a while since we've had a coffee get-together in Sydney for all the girls. Would there be any takers for another one? (Maybe over a weekend on an afternoon so the boys could join us??)

My wife will also love to go. I am one of the boys, and would like to go as well.

Yep, it's about time we got together again - been ages! If hubby can come along too, great, but I'm equally happy to come on my own :blink:

If we can find a venue big enough, I see no reason why the kids can't join for a babycino as well :lol:

Hi Riekie!

Ek is Saskia Jordaan, het in Sydney 'beland' einde April, saam met my man Peet, en my 5-jarige dogtertjie Alissa. Ons bly in Lane Cove. Ons het ongelukkig eers omtrent 2 weke terug op hierdie 'site' afgekom - wens ons het reg van die begin af daarvan geweet. Dit sou die hele prses SOVEEL makliker gemaak het! Ek het soveel vrae gehad, en SO verlore gevoel omdat ek geen antwoorde kon kry nie!!

Wel, ek is bly ons is nou deel van julle wonderlike wereld, en die voorheen-angstige gevoel in my hart, is nou vervang met ene van 'vrede' en 'tevredenheid' omdat ek darem nou vir 'n FEIT weet dat daar nog meer van ons 'verdwaalde' SA-siele hier rond is!! Ons het begin dink ons gaan nooit weer Suid Afrikaanse vriende he nie!! Hehe!

Ek moet seker tot by die punt kom ne: - Ons sal baie graag ook wil deel wees van die 'Sydney-kuier', so as jy 'n 'lysie' het, voeg ons maar by!

OK, seems we've got a definite date then : Sunday 24 August 10:30am - Hubbies & kids included! :thumbdown:

Please let me know by 11 August who will attend (also, number of adults & kids) so I could start the hunt for a big enough venue.

Hi Saskia,

Ons woon ook in Lane Cove (25 Best str), en aangesien die forum byeenkoms afgestel is agv min belangstelling, kan ons dalk maar ons "eie" ding reel, as julle lus het! Ons gaan more-aand gou 'n pizza eet saam met ander "homesick" SA-ners, en julle is welkom om in te val as jul lus het. Ons ken ook nog nie die mense nie, maar die eienaars van die restaurant (Jamie & Robin, Barusso's is die restaurant in Northbridge) is oud-Kapenaars, en hul pizza is beslis die beste wat ons in Sydney kon opspoor!

Ander opsie is volgende Sondag by Balmoral beach - dis ons gereelde sondag uitspanplek - vir 'n koffie en brekky!

Anyway, dis net 'n voorstel, as julle lus het. Ons het 2 ander nuwelinge (hulle is so 4 weke hier), met 2 kinders, wat dalk sondag sal join!

I have picked this one up late in the day.

We arrived in Sydney in January2008, and are finding it difficult to meet new people.

We moved to South West Sydney (near West Hoxton) where other SA friends are, but there seems to be no-one around here (Is there anybody out there?)

My teenage sons are missing having friends that they can chat to about familiar things.

Our friends have been here for four years. Two teenage daughters, and the same sort of problem.

What about getting together, especially for our teenagers?
