Looking for Baby Goods

Hi Forumites

My very good friend is having her baby next month. She has only been married a year and the wee once wasn't exactly planned at this early stage.

Long and the short of is that they are flat broke and have nothing for thier baby.

If anyone out there has stuff they want to get rid of, or some good second hand stuff, please let me know.

K

Thanks all.

She is apparently having a girl, but because she is at the mercy of our wonderful government hospitals they wont tell her for definate and keep telling her they'll confirm at the next checkup. But I think its safe to say a girl

Please tell her she could always consider a home-birth with a professional midwife. I'ts wonderfully intimate and waaaaayyy cheaper. And if you have medical aid, it covers homebirths with a professional midwife. I can recommend a wonderful lady.

Hi

I have suggested it to her and she has looked into it. At the moment she is a hospital patient so isn't paying much for her birth, and at this stage they can't even afford the services of a midwife.

Its very sad- considering how fortunate I was when I had my kids, but they are doing their best to make the best of a stressful situation.
