Hi All,

I already posted but a big SORRY for not introducing ourselves to you all!

So asb verskoon maar.

My name is Annette and hubby, his name is Theo, decided to immagrate to Australia about 3weeks ago.

I think it's the best idea he ever had! But it is still very scarry.

We have two boys: Tiaan will be turning 6 in May and Heinrich will be 3 in September. So my biggest worry is Tiaan as he is in GrR at present and I'm worried how he will cope next year. And even worst what if we can only go in the middle of his Gr 1 year?

Groete

Annette

PS. O, aarde! Waar is die spelcheck?!

Ja, OK die IELTS toets gaan nie vir my so maklik wees nie...ha-ha....

Hi daar

Baie welkom!

Jy sal sien alles sal in plek val.

Glo my ek weet.

My man sal julle met graagte help of in die regte rigting wys.

groetnis

ta'mossie

Hi Annette,

And welcome to the forum - probably your best one-stop-shop for the next while on visa application questions and answers! Hope we can all help.

Cheers,

TereMel

PS- I worked in Langebaanweg a few years ago - good memories of the area!

Hi Anette

Welkom hier by ons baie vinnig groeiende Suid Afrikaanse gemeenskap. Julle besluit gaan so paar uitdagings bring, maar dit is eintlik baie lekker en "exciting" om 'n nuwe omgewing te he.

We arrived here in the middle of the year. My one daughter is 9 and the other turned 14 this past weekend. Not only did they not have a problem in school, but they are doing very well. After writing entry exams, they also both skipped a grade. There is no need to worry about the kids. They are way more adaptable than we are. Just make sure that you keep an eye on their progress and assist from time to time.

Click here to have a look at a recent article on SA kids in Oz from our local magazine, Sabona.

If your children can only speak Afrikaans, then it is a good idea to get them some tuition in English (it took my children about 8 months to be proficient). They should be done by the time your Visa is granted. If they are proficient in English, then no worries.

Hoop al julle planne werk uit.

Groete

Herman

dankie Herman,

Wat die kinders betref voel ek beter. Maar jy maak my so bietjie senuagtig oor die uitdagings wat nog wag.

Moet ook net noem dat my kinders baie beter as ek Engels praat. Dit sluit my 2jarige in....

Groetnis

Annette
