    Brisbane Suburbs

Hi, we're a family of 4 with 2 young children and considering moving interstate and are looking to settle North of Brisbane. I would gladly appreciate any feedback on the pros/cons of any of the following suburbs: Everton Park, Everton Hills, Arana Hills, McDowall, Bridgeman Downs, Albany Creek, Bunya, Aspley. I'm mostly interested in getting an idea of the character of each suburb, whether it has a community feeling to it, how busy or quiet it is, what travel times to and from the city typically look like and whether people living there are overall happy with the area.

    Questions for Canberra

Hi there, I've posted some of these questions on another thread: Any advise - suggestions will be appreciated: Background: We have a PR175 visa. Did validation-trip March 2013 (went to Perth and Melbourne... didn't plan on Canberra - but looks like the SAP Government jobs there are good and more long term). Plan is to relocate end of the year, with my husband going over first (October 2015) and then our 2 girls (aged 12 & 13) will fly over with me once year at school is finished and house packed up. Going to take a 20ft container with basic stuff & sentimental furnitur
  4. Hi All. Narrowed the suburbs we are going to look at to the following 10: East: Coogee Bronte Bondi Lower North Shore: Kirribilli Neutral Bay Mosman McMahons Point North Shore: Manly Balgowlah West: Balmain We are in Sydney for 8 days so whould have enough time to get a feel of each area. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  5. We will be moving to Melbourne at the end of June 2015, yep ... just around the corner and loads of nervous excitement bubbling around for all of us! I'm sure this may be a simple thing to sort out for those of you already over there, but for us a big conundrum is schooling/suburb choice. We're fully aware that the school determines the suburb, but how do we go about finding a rental without knowing what school our children will be accepted at? Are the zoning regulations extremely strict? Obviously we need to find something when we arrive, even if for the short-term until we know where we want

    Where to Stay in Sydney?

Hi everyone......so we have arrived in stunning Sydney! The first few days were lovely as we came straight to a serviced apartment in Mosman! However we have one more week and we are on our own! Scary thought as rentals are few and far between especially the reasonably priced ones. So my question is, we love the north shore areas however my husband has a job interview in Padstow.....not even sure where that is yet so now need to research a few areas on that side of Sydney. Any advice on good areas to live with good schools etc as we have 2 boys (5 and 8) and i work in the city so we need a rea

    where to live in Melbourne

Hi to all, we need some help deciding on where to live in Melbourne. We have been looking at different areas but we have no way of judging whether it is a good part of town or a bad part of town. And was hoping to get a couple of recommendations on where you think a Jo'Burg boy will feel comfortable. We are a family of 4. Mum, dad, three-year-old girl (who will probably be attending school of some sort towards the middle of the year) and a seven-month-old baby boy. My wife will not be working at first but we hope to find some sort of work from home/online job once we settled in. As fo

    Schooling

Hey Guys & gals Are there any suburbs to steer clear of when renting and for schooling NOR. Thanks
  9. Hello Mates We are so excited after receiving a positive skills assessment from ACS yesterday. Think I will be doing back flips when it is the VISA, cause I am already over the moon. Our road has been all about where God wants us, where He needs us, what He will is for us. He has been so amazing in guiding us and just opening doors. We originally looked at Perth, but there is not many IT jobs for hubby. Then we looked at either Sydney or Melbourne as it would appear there are more opportunities for hubby here, but how to choice between the two? Again God opened one door (positive skills

    Hornsby

Ok, so we decided to initially look for a place in Hornsby. It seems like it is still an hour commute for hubby, but he does that anyway now. Is there anyone on the forum living on the area? Does anyone have any comments? I still have time to change if you tell me that this is an area I should avoid, so please let me know.
  11. Ok, so it seems we are on our way to Sydney end of September. Since it is so expensive we decided to look at Penrith as a place to stay as it is much cheaper as it is approx an hour commute to he cbd. Is there anyone on the forum that can give us their oppinion on this town?

    Perth Suburbs

All, Not sure if this has been asked before. With regards to Perth, could those of you in the know give some ideas about the suburbs/neighborhoods to steer clear of with regards to renting, buying or living in ?
  13. For all those wondering which part of Sydney they should settle in...... here is how the locals rate their own and others
