Hi everyone, I am a senior cost manager (quantity surveyor) currently based in Dubai but my family and I are moving to Melbourne in August. Does anyone have any contacts in Melbourne that I could get in touch with? I am able to move over before my family if required and we are all on 189 visas so working is not a problem. I know the usual websites like Seek however I am only starting to look for work and apply for jobs this week. If anyone is able to point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
When applying for the Visa Subclass 190 one has to select the specific State you wish to receive an invitation from. I am a quantity surveyor hence need to select a state where infrastructure and construction projects are plentiful. How do I decide between NSW, VIC, WA and QLD?! Where would a South African who is used to the Cape Town and Western Cape landscape and lifestyle adapt the best?
Hi, We have recently decided that we would like to immigrate to Australia, just a bit of a hick-up we're facing: My husband is in the construction industry, he worked for a company as a Site/Project Manager for 15+ years, a year ago he started his own Construction & Maintenance company. The problem (I think it would be) is that he doesn't have any qualifications, he finished his Gr.12 in 1998 and started working for the company in 1999 up and until last year. My questions: * Has anyone had a similar situation and still had their visa granted?
NiniJ posted a topic in Brisbane, QLDIn your personal opinion, what is the best REGIONAL AREA in QLD to move to from South Africa, taking into consideration the following: 1. Visa is a 489 so we have to LIVE and WORK in areas that fall under the regional postal codes for the first 2 years. eg. Toowoomba (4350) Townsville (4810 + 4813), Nerang/Gilston/Carrara (4211), Jimboomba (4280) etc etc 2. Husband is a carpenter / Site Manager and maintenance man and we would need to be in an area where there is a lot of residential development happening to ensure we can pay the bills each month and that he has ongoing work or the opportunity
