Pippa
Dear Forum Members,We are very pleased and honoured to introduce Dolf van Zyl and Etienne Hugo to the forum. Dolf first moved to New Zealand and relocated to Brisbane, Australia thereafter. Dolf has more that 25 years experience as a Lawyer in 3 different countries. He also has an extensive business background, which enables him to assist clients in the preparation of Business Plans, Visa Applications, Business Contracts and Conveyancing.Etienne moved with his family from South Africa to Sydney in 1999 and has since specialised in Immigration Law. Etienne holds a Doctorate of Law (LLD) degree. He is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and registered as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. Etienne is a registered Migration Agent, specialising in skilled, employment-sponsored and business migration visas. He is also acknowledged by the Law Society of New South Wales as an accredited Specialist Lawyer in Immigration Law.Dolf and Etienne will mainly focus on the Immigration Section of this forum, but please note that they are "normal members" in their personal capacity and will simply assist where clarification is needed. Please note that the idea is not that they will act as the forum's Immigration Agents. They will give general advice on the forum to steer people in the right direction with regard to immigration questions. To officially make use of their professional immigration services, members must please send a PM (personal message) or e-mail to Etienne / Dolf to arrange a formal consultation/quotation.Dolf and Etienne, welcome to the forum and thank you for becoming part of the SAAustralia Family! Great friendships have already been formed via this forum, which is a wonderful supporting "tool" for prospective immigrants as well as for South Africans already in Australia. We are indeed very pleased to have you as members! chatterbug
Hi Pippa,First up welcome to the 2 gentlemen you have introduced! Well Well this is quite an interesting development! Although I can clearly see the benefits of having these guys on our forum I think time will tell how this will actually work. You mention that they are "normal" members ( i'd hope so, phew!) but yet they pay an advertising fee to be on this forum. I can think of a couple of interesting scenario's where there could be ....how shall I say.....a conflict of interest! Anyway I'm sure you guys (Hendie and the hosts! - sounds like a 80's pop band, hehe!) have thought this through and have some code of conduct for these things. Would you guys mind to elaborate a bit more on how this would work in practice - I'm not so familiar with forum protocols on this . I notice for example they haven't introduced themselves. Maybe they can clarify how they see it working for themselves via an introduction in the foyer, just a suggestion. I think such a clarification will also save them from being potentially swamped, and then scaring them off! Thanks in advance! In a cautiously optimistic and PC gesture, Let me change my previous tag line - "Anti Agent Bug" on matters regarding agents to - ....Anti Disreputable Agent BUG!
