Thanks for sharing this link. The airtime is given to partner visas and when questioned about the 143’s the person who responded was still of the opinion that the waiting time is 4 years.  Is there anyone in this forum who would be able to be a voice to those of us hitting 5 years. The dialogue starts at about 45 minutes into the conversation. Parental visas didn’t really get a look in unless I missed something.

      Hi.

I hope you dont mind me messaging you direct? I have noticed people always get the best answers/advice from you.

I understand the holdup with COVID-19. My wife has accepted a job in Brisbane. We just hoping this all clears so we can get over there soon.
If all goes well and according to plan and we are fortunate to move over, I need to convert my trade.

I am a qualified electrician from South Africa. Due to time constraints I wont be able to do anything in South Africa with regards to skills assessment etc.

You did send me a link https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/licensing-and-registrations/electrical-licences/interstate-overseas-and-defence-force-applicants/overseas-applicants  of the process. I was wondering if you could please simplify it.
What do I need to do to convert my electrical trade when I am in Brisbane? Once again if all goes well we will be coming over on a 482 visa.

      Many thanks,
      Brendon
