Guest Seoul Sister
Hi Nats,I am not an expert on visa types, but I have managed to get you the following :An Oz immigration/visa website advises the following :If unmarried – must be in a de facto relationship:• Live together (or do not live apart on a permanent basis); • Commitment to a shared life as husband and wife to exclusion of all others; • Must have lived together for a period of at least 12 months prior to lodging visa application. This visa can be applied for from within, or outside of Australia. Please be aware:All relationships will be assessed on a number of factors to determine that the relationship is genuine. We advise that applicants should be able to:• Provide evidence detailing mutual commitment – which includes the length of the relationship and time spent living together; • Provide financial evidence supporting their mutual commitment to their partner; • Provide evidence demonstrating the social aspects of the relationship, including pictures and the opinions of family and friends about the relationship. http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/partner/vi...ousedefacto.htmIf you want all of the official requirements (from the horse's mouth if we can call a spade a spade) you should read : Booklet 1 – Partner Migrationhttp://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/books1.htmWhich you can download from the internet instead of buying. When applying you will need to do two things:1. Sponsorship application2. Visa Application( A lot of the work will have to be done by your partner - the Australian citizen, so you have organized yourself a good deal there )The appropriate forms are :1. Sponsorship form :Partner Form 40SPhttp://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/40sp.pdf 2. Visa application form :Application for migration to Australia by a partner Form 47SP Your partner needs to complete the sponsorship section of the visa application formhttp://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/47sp.pdf I am not sure if this is all the info that you need, but I am sure once you have worked through both the application forms, you will have a very good idea of what is needed, as they provide detailed information in the first couple of pages of both. Good luck !! Please come back if you have more questions and I will try and find some answers for you.Kind RegardsSeoul Sister
Cindylou
Hi NatsOur situation is different, in that I am applying for a skilled sponsored (139) and my partner is my de facto spouse. Our agent advised that the following could be used to evidence the relationship:Any legal and financial documents such as insurance policies on joint household contents, car insurance naming each other as alternate drivers, pension documents or wills naming each other as beneficiaries. (We also provided evidence that I am listed as his spouse on his medical aid.) Power of attorney or other forms allowing each other access to bank accounts (or evidence of a joint bank account). Both names on a lease agreement, or joint ownership of property.Post sent to each of you at the same addressAnecdotal evidence would include invitations as a couple to weddings, parties etc. photographs of you as a couple at events and joint travel bookings. You would each need to provide a personal statement setting out the history of the relationship: when and how you met, when the relationship started, when you started cohabiting, any future plans for marriage, etc.You also need statutory declarations from Australian residents stating the nature of your relationship, http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/888.pdf Hope this has helped, and good luck Cindylou
