The SkillSelect Invites September 2020

 

As with other recent rounds of invitations there are very low numbers of individuals being invited and generally invites are being made to specific occupations.
The government state 'The Government is closely monitoring migration and visa settings to ensure they are consistent with public health measures, are flexible and do not displace job opportunities for Australians, so that Australia can effectively respond to the immediate and subsequent impacts of COVID-19. As such, targeted invitation rounds have occurred since May 2020.'

Our understanding is that due to COVID-19 only selected occupations (e.g. critical) received Invitations.

• 189 Visa Invites: 350 x 189 visa invitations were issued. The points score required was 65+ (deeming date 07/2020).

• 491(Family Stream) Visa Invites: 150 x 491 visa invitations were issued. The points score required was 70+ (deeming date 08/2020).
• ProRata Occupations - the information provided suggests no invites were made to people in ProRata occupations.

 

Please Note: As above invitations are not being issued in the same way as previously where invitations were made to people with the highest points score.  Since May 2020 the government is selecting specific occupations aimed at assisting with the governments aim to assist the  Response to Coronavirus.
