The 189 visa is issued to those with the highest points up to the available quota each month, so is automatically limited (last round needing 85+ - due to the small numbers of invites issued in the last few months). The states can pick and choose who they wish to invite, some states already have points or other selection criteria due to the increase in interest in state sponsorship. I have not seen a new points limit yet and as a guess suspect that it may be allowed to run for a few months before being increased depending upon the resulting EOIs? 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
