TeeTMI Posted June 28, 2019 Report Share Posted June 28, 2019 The Dept of Home Affairs has released the new visa application charges starting as of the 1st July 2019Unusually this year a combination of two increases has been applied, in recent years the charge has generally increased in line with the CPI. This year the government had announced in the budget that the visa application charges were to be increased by 5.4% and the migration industry had assumed that this was the total figure including CPI. However, today the visa application charges legislation has been released and the increase is a combined figure of the 5.4% announced in the budget, plus the 2019-20 forecast CPI of 2.25%. Therefore, effectively an increase of 7.65%, and rounded to the nearest $5.
