AlexEJ Posted March 12, 2019 Report Share Posted March 12, 2019 Hallo. I had my Electrician qualification assessed through vetassess and got an positive outcome. For my Electrical I get:15 points - Work 8 years plus in electrical I also have an B.Com Degree with majors in accounting and project management. For this I could get: 15 points - B.Com degree as my highest qualification. I am fairly sure I can use my B.Com as highest qualification, but it must be assessed somewhere. Where and how do I do that? My aim is for the 189 visa and to go live in Queensland. My brother lives there. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you. SD_MOA Posted March 13, 2019 Report Share Posted March 13, 2019 Hello Alex, You don't need to have your qualification assessed - if it is a Degree from a recognised South African institution then it will be fine. You need to be careful when calculating your points for work experience though as depending on when you obtained your Electrician qualifications not all of your work experience may be claimable.
