It often comes down to what you do, which areas you could travel to in a reasonable time frame each day and how much you want to earn. I'm a mechanical engineer and project manager, but we settled in Canberra (hubbies got a good job and we are very happy here) and that means until we have citizenship it will be VERY hard for me to get a job in either of those industries. now I'm struggling to adapt my CV to not only the Australian market but also making it more suitable for admin and other less technical positions.
