Dual Citizenship....

As an Australian citizen arriving in South Africa on a SA passport (requirement).....If you encounter any problems whether you are guilty or not......can Australia step in and assist you...

or does one fall under the SA law ?

RSA law while on the RSA passport. Australia can’t intervene in RSA.

If you are still a South African citizen the Aussie government can't help you in South Africa.

i think any form of consular assistance has a fee associated with it. many think that it will be like a 000 call with an entourage

Yes, if you enter south Africa as a south African citizen (Which is required by south African law if you have a RSA passport), they you are not a Australian citizen in a foreign country, you are a RSA citizen in their home country

 

This is one of the reasons we considered when deciding to drop our RSA citizenship
