It seems that November Invitation Round may also have been around 4340 invitations from what I have read on other forums. If true, this would mean that the total invitations for the year thus far has almost reached the annual quota (if the numbers are to remain similar to the previous year). Do you think in the coming months we will see very now numbers of invitations until July 2019?

The SkillSelect Skilled Independent total quota visas (189/489) is 43,990 for the 2018-19 year, currently 10,360 invitations have ben made for these two visas.  However this also includes the NZ stream of visas - which are accounting for an unknown number of these places.  There are also a couple of other potential factors at play.

I have heard people saying that they think that a similar number of places were invited in November, but also that much fewer in December.  This would align with some previous years as sometimes we see a reduction in the number of invitations over the festive/holiday season when many of the Departments staff may be taking holiday...

There is an election next year and immigration is a popular subject relating to this.  There has been a lot of discussion of allowing the states/territories more control of the number of migrants heading to their state (and potentially we might see changes re this?).

It is always difficult to predict the future as there are so many variables.
